American Car Nationals Incorporating Canberra Chrysler Day

26/09/2010 (All day)

The American Car Nationals is a static display of American Classic Cars of yesteryear. The event is held annually at the Queanbeyan Showground on the last Sunday in September. The origin of the American Car Nationals goes back to 1991 when a group of enterprising members of the American Car Club of Australia Inc. had the vision of an annual event where enthusiasts of American cars could meet to discuss their hobby and display their dream machines. In subsequent years the numbers have grown to more than 260 superbly presented American vehicles in 40 judging categories and Canberra Chrysler Day is now a regular and important feature of the Nationals, to include Australian Chryslers. The American Car Club of Australia Inc. has close links with the Shannon's Insurance Group who will again be the major sponsor of the event. Local businesses in the ACT and Queanbeyan have also been most supportive.

Salzburg is perhaps the most touristy of Austria's cities, and not without reason. The old inner city is beautiful, the views from the fortress overlooking the old city are stunning.
Music lovers come to see the birthplace of Mozart, and other come to see the set of the Sound of music.

Airport

Salzburg Airport presents itself as a modern regional airport, which creates jobs and plays an ever increasing role as a strong investor in the economy and the tourist industry. The airport, named after Salzburg-born composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is located west-southwest from the centre of Salzburg and 2 km (1.2 mi) from the Austrian-German border.

The airport is a gateway to Austria's numerous vast ski areas, including the Ski Amadé region, the largest network of linked ski resorts in Europe.

The airport is jointly owned by the City of Salzburg (25%) and The State of Salzburg (75%). As of 2001 it was valued at € 22,000,000.

By trolleybus, line number 2 with service every 10 minutes, the airport is connected to Salzburg's public transport system. The main station is reachable in about 25 minutes and the inner city in about 30 minutes.
